Full metal G-Shock GM-B2100AD-2A and GMW-B5000D-2 with blue dial and blue-accented face

Hodinkee Japan revealed the G-Shock GM-B2100AD-2A (left) and GMW-B5000D-2 (right) which will be released in April 2024. The GM-B2100AD-2A has a blue vapor deposition on the dial, and the GMW-B5000D-2 has a blue vapor deposition on the glass surrounding the LCD display. The style of the GMW-B5000D-2 is similar to the GMW-B5000PC-1, but it is a solid metallic blue color instead of the gradated blue-green of the GMW-B5000PC-1, and this model has an inverted LCD display. The indices and hands of the GM-B2100AD-2A are also vapor-deposited for a metallic look, and the silver indices combined with the blue dial give the watch a classic feel. This is the first GM-B2100 model with a colored dial.

The GM-B2100 has Bluetooth smartphone link and dual LED lights, and the GMW-B5000 has Bluetooth smartphone link, Multi-Band 6 auto radio time adjustment, and a full auto LED backlight. Both models are powered by Tough Solar. Like other full metal GM-B2100 and GMW-B5000 models, these watches are made in Japan. Hodinkee Japan points out that the blue colors may be inspired by the Casio Watch 50th Anniversary taking place in 2024, as the corporate color of Casio is blue. (The Japanese model names suggest that these are not limited editions.)

In Japan, the GM-B2100AD-2AJF has a tax-included price of 88,000 yen, and the GMW-B5000D-2JF has a tax-included price of 84,700 yen. The GM-B2100AD-2A and GMW-B5000D-2 are expected to be released worldwide.

Update: G-Shock U.S. released the GMB2100AD-2A and GMWB5000D-2 for $550 each in late March 2024.
